There are many tax advantages associated with gifts of stock. These gifts allow you to give at a much higher level while avoiding capital gains tax on appreciated assets.
Gifts of real estate offer many benefits to the donor. For one, you avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation and receive a charitable deduction for the fair market value of the property. By donating real estate, you could also lower your estate taxes considerably.
A CLT is ideal for people who have significant assets and need tax relief. A CLT allows you to support Covenant Christian Academy with income during your lifetime while transferring assets to your heirs with reduced gift and estate taxes.
Gifts made through your will. They are the simplest and most common. Cash, securities, and real estate can be given through a bequest. You can even designate a percentage of your estate to Covenant Christian Academy.
Paid up, whole life policies can be donated by naming Covenant Christian Academy as the beneficiary of the policy. This will allow you to support the school while leaving your current income stream unchanged. The policy proceeds going to CCA will be an estate tax charitable deduction.
You transfer cash, securities, or other property to Covenant Christian Academy. You receive an income tax deduction and may save capital gains tax. CCA pays a fixed amount each year to you or to anyone you name for life. Typically, a portion of these payments is tax-free. When the gift annuity ends, its remaining principle passes to Covenant Christian Academy.
Uncle Sam can claim 75% or more of the value of your retirement plan if you die before you have taken most of your distributions. Instead of providing a windfall to your heirs, your assets could be heavily taxed! Rather than giving it to Uncle Sam, consider directing it to Covenant Christian Academy.
